The public homepage of Yu Hao (zhyfeng.github.io): a Jekyll site presenting research, publications and CV. This glossary covers the words used when deciding how the site presents its owner.

Language

Visual identity: The look that makes the site recognisably this person’s and not a template: typography, colour, motif, layout rhythm. The current project is about this. Avoid: 个性化, design, theme, style

Voice: The way the written text sounds: first person or third, story or summary, warm or formal. Out of scope for the current project. Avoid: tone, copy, 文案

Hero: The first screen of the homepage: the rail (photo, 郝宇 mark, table of contents, profile links) and the Name, Description and Facts sections beside it. Avoid: banner, header, intro

Fact strip: The compact line of facts in the Hero computed from publication data (count, venues, awards) instead of typed by hand. Avoid: fact line, stats, highlights

Variant: One of several structurally different renderings of the homepage built during prototyping to pick the Visual identity. Avoid: version, theme, mockup
